Are you pain-free? If you are, you are either numb, in a small minority of the population, or already following much of Dr. Heidi Roberts’ new guidebook. If you’re not, now is a great time to get started on a pain free future.
We’ve been reading Roberts’ new guidebook, The Sitting Disease: Restore Your Posture and Eliminate Body Pain in 10 Minutes a Day. She describes how poor posture is frequently the cause of body pain and how you can remedy the situation by changing habits and modifying your environment. We couldn’t agree more.
Ridding deskbound workers of physical discomfort – and the symptoms of “sitting disease” – is a big reason for the quickly emerging market of active seating. Trouble is, we are all creatures of habit and sitting all day is one fully entrenched routine. Roberts goes into some detail about what all this sitting is doing to our bodies, including chronic pain, long term disability, and heart disease. Her book is for those of us who have decided we’ve had enough pain and are ready to seek a better way. Roberts quotes Henry Cloud:
“We change our behavior when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing. Consequences give us the pain that motivates us to change.”
It takes patience and persistence, but we can all enjoy a pain-free, energized, and confident life. Roberts shows us how. Check it out.
